The RSPCA will be holding a birthday party like no other to celebrate its 200th anniversary with a host of events across England and Wales including in Essex.
Animal lovers and four-legged friends can join the celebrations
And animal lovers and families from the Colchester area are invited to join in the celebrations as part of the RSPCA’s One Fun Day which will be held simultaneously at various locations across the country.
RSPCA Essex Mid & North Branch will be hosting a Family Fun Day at their Charity Shop in Prettygate, Colchester on Saturday 14th June. There will be a variety of activities including games, tombola, raffle, pet related stalls and refreshments including lots of cakes. The shop will also be open so all visitors are welcome to pop in and grab a bargain.
Tara Abbott, Prettygate Shop Manager, said “We are extremely proud to be hosting One Fun Day at Prettygate again. The money we raise at our shop goes to help rehabilitate animals rescued in our area and by holding fundraising activities such as this, we can further support the fantastic work our Veterinary teams carry out in in our Colchester and Chelmsford Clinics”
The fun begins at 11am. Parking is available in the car park behind Prettygate Library.
There are dozens of One Fun Day events, which are being held up and down the country at RSPCA animal centres, shops and other surprising locations!

One Fun Day is an annual event on the RSPCA calendar. This year marks the charity’s 201st anniversary – with the actual birthday day being on Monday 16 June.
So by taking part in One Fun Day – and celebrating on our birthday – you can ensure you will have a weekend to remember!
It also gives people and communities the chance to come together to support their local RSPCA branches and centres and help improve the lives of every animal as part of a million strong movement to change the lives of animals for the better.
