Every day, RSPCA Essex Mid & North is dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in desperate need of help. Your donations play a vital role in enabling us to provide food, veterinary care and shelter for the many pets that come into our care.

Upon arrival, all pets undergo a thorough health check by a vet and receive essential treatments. This includes microchipping, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and neutering. Many of our older animals, affectionately known as “golden oldies,” require additional care, such as dental treatments, before they’re ready to move on to their forever homes.

The cost of boarding alone averages between £5 and £10 per day, depending on the type of animal and the level of care required. These fees, combined with medical costs, add up quickly – but every penny ensures these animals receive the love and care they need while they wait for their new families.

In addition to rehoming efforts, we operate two welfare clinics, offering vital veterinary treatment for pets whose owners are on low incomes. These clinics provide a lifeline to struggling families and help ensure pets can remain with their loving owners.
